I'm a fifty-something romantic. I have brown hair ( thinning ), blue eyes, a moustache and goattee. I like books, music ( jazz and rock ), chess, rummy, euchre, old movies ( horror, comedy and history ), quiet dinners at home and snuggling. I'm also involved in neighborhood politics. I have a dog, a cat, a parrot and a parakeet, though I don't consider the groundhog living under the front porch as a pet.
Definitely looking for a LTR, but a close friendship will do in the meantime.
Looking for a hairy man reasonably close to my own age. Not looking for gym rats, male models or twinks. And someone having at least half a brain is a definite plus ( which leaves out anyone currently elected to city, state and federal elective office ).

Meine Vorstellung von Spaß ist

Having friends over to dinner, then playing cards or chess. Or perhaps going out to hear some live Jazz at the Little Cafe with a couple of glasses of wine, and then dancing afterwards. Or having friends stay over, and staying up all night watching old movies and the next day, taking long walks with them through the exciting parts of town. While I'm not too crazy about working in my yard, it's a job that has to be done, while the dog chases the squirrels that abound here.
I really enjoy going to city council meetings and pissing off the politicians by making noise about their stupid and expensive antics.
But, most of all, spending quiet time with a special man and "creative synthesis." Figure that out for yourself!

I look for someone that is passionate in their beliefs, but can also see the humor in zealotry. Someone who can understand an alternative point of view. Someone who can hold up their end of a conversation. A nice smile and a firm handshake does wonders for me, as well as facial hair. Someone who bathes regularly.
I'm not looking for someone who's only concern is how they look, or how fashionably they're dressed. Or how much they can drink or with how many men they have slept with in the previous week. Or how much money they have and all the "exciting" places they go to. More than likely, they never see anything of those exciting places because they never get out of the bars there.
